Christmas Testimony

Hi Elder, I hope you are doing well. I’ve got a favor to ask you. I’m supposed to teach a lesson to all the young women. Since you have a sister in there I thought it would be nice to include some of your thoughts. The topic for the month is missionary work, but I was also asked to make it a Christmas lesson. If you could share how teaching people about Christ ties in with the Christmas season. Maybe you can share special things that your mission does during Christmas time to share the gospel. And share your testimony.  Thanks so much  Love, Heather Bott I'd be glad to share a few thoughts. Christmas has come to mean much more to me now that I've been out here in the mission field. As a missionary I am not able to be with my family phisically during the holliday season. This has made me reflect on the real reason  we celebrate this great holliday. Over 2 thousand years ago a child was born in a manger in a small city far away. And although the event happened so...

Working Hard

Hola!!!! Don't have much time to write a lot today. We are doing a ton of work with members here in the San Nicolas Zone. We are seeing a ton of miracles in the work and we are all continuing with a high level of obedience and dedication to the work. This week we have zone conference. Getting ready for the christmas season and the Light the World initiative. we were in the 70s today. Love you all! Have an amazing week! new missionaries and new mattresses

Hola ! Como andan alli en casa? We have had a pretty eventful week here in the San Nicolas zone with the beginning of a new change. But our excitement and our drive to work hard as a zone is continuing. We're set up to finish off the year strong.  We had an area in the zone called Zua Zua that had Elders in it.  The 2 Elders that were there in the area got changed to other areas and we have  sister missionaries moving in to that area. One of the sisters is going to be training a Brazilian sister and they won't actually get to the area until tomorrow because those who come from Brazil are always a week late in getting to the mission. This last week though, me and my companion Elder Joachin had to go back and forth to that area to get the house ready for the sisters. That included finding 2 extra mattresses in the zone and then taking them to the to the house in Zua Zua. It's like a 45 minute drive from our area. Yesterday we finished all of our preparations and the hou...

Big Week

Hola! wow what a week we had. For me and Elder Ruiz this last week went by really fast. Tuesday we went to the area of the Asistants and did divisions with them in their area for the whole day, Thursday  was our conference with Elder Pino of the 70, Saturday we had our leadership council for all the zone leaders and Elder Pino as well, yesterday we had the special conference broadcast from Salt Lake for all of Mexico with Elder Rasband, and today we got our news about these next changes. We've been all over the place.  The conference with Elder Pino went really well for all those missionaries who are obedient and working diligently. We talked a lot about our missionary purpose and how there are still some Elders who don't get it. I learnedf a lot there and felt at peace knowing that I was giving it my all.  The leadership council with Elder Pino was equally edifying. We had a really amazing experience as we all sat in council with a 70 to discuss the needs of ...

lots of stuff going down

This last week was really eventful for us. Lots of stuff happened that we weren't expecting. Some of it was really good and others not as much.  So we had a baptism date scheduled for the 17th of this month for an investigator who has been preparing for quite some time now. She is 68 years old and her name is Eva. We were giving her a little time because this weekend she wouldn't have been able to because of a conferencethat is special for all of Mexico that we will have on Sunday instead of regular meetings. We got a call on Friday in the afternoon from our bishop who had spoken with Eva and she said that she wanted to be baptized the next day on the 3rd instead of wait. So we had to hurry and ask permission from President to do a baptism interview the day of the baptism and he gave us the go ahead, then call our only DL in the zone to schedule the interview for Saturday morning. Luckily he was free and everything fell into place really well. The baptism was scheduled ...
