Opposition in All Things

So this last week was a bit rough. We were supposed to have a baptism yesterday but the Mom of our investigator had to go to the doctor with her son so she took our investigator with her and we never were able to hear back from her so we have no idea what happened. The weather has been pretty crappy as well. Rainy the last few days and me and Elder Peña both got sick.  We had a bunch of people in church though which was a good thing to see. Yesterday was actually Elder Peñas birthday. He was a little bumbed that the baptism fell through and that he had a cold. Today we made microwave cake and we are going to take him to a restaurant called wingman so That should lift his spirits.  We get to go to the temple on Saturday which I am super excited for because I haven't been for a while and I need it.  I love you all. Miss you Elder Hoyt Elder Hendricks and Elder Clegg  New Bike Hendricks taking a nap and Clegg poppin a squat River in All...

River ride of a week

Hola a toda mi familia! So this week turned out to be kind of a river ride. We had 4 baptisms planned for this last Sunday. We ended up having to move them to the next week because they all went out of town for the weekend. We have had a ton of opposition with one of our investigator families. The father wants them to coninue in their old chuch and not let his wife and kids get baptized. We have been paying for him to soften his heart.  This week in church was really good. We had 38 people in church and 10 investigators. We almost can't fit anymore into our tiny house of prayer. We are close to having a chappel built here in Allende. That is super exciting. Today we went on a little adventure down to the river that is here in Allende. It is super pretty down there and I got some sweet pics but I don't have my camera cord to transfer them. Sorry. Me and Elder Clegg took our sweet new bikes and we gave a good run through. They are super sweet! The weather has been perf...

Wooo!

Hola todos! We are sitting down here in 65 to 70 degree weather with bright sunshine! This last week was a big success for us here in the Allende branch. Me and Elder Peña had 7 investigators in church 4 of which will be baptized this coming Sunday the 21st. Elder Clegg and Elder Hendricks had 6 investigators in church and 4 with baptismal dates approaching. That is 13 investigators in total that we had in church! We had a grand total of 31 people attend church which is big for here.  Today has been a pretty sweet P day as well. We had pancakes for breakfast and then us 4 Elders went on a bike ride up in the mountains that turned out really cool. We found a big monument in the middle of the woods that was a cross made of stone and a bunch of stonework around it. There are some crazy rich people that have a ton of land up there as well.  I also may have baught a new bike because mine has just had too many problems. The bike I baught I'm gonna be taking with me and goin...

Change of Plans

Hola todos!! So we had a little change of plans this last week. Our investigator who was going to be baptized in the river ended up not wanting to do it until April. Which is fine I guess. But we are going to be having 4 baptisms on the 21st of January so it's all good. We also had interviews with President McArthur this last week on Wednesday. He told me that me and Elder Peña were one of the most successfull companionships in the mission. We are gonna keep working hard and do everything possible to keep it that way.  We are sitting in about 65 degree weather right now withh clear blue skys and sun. Winter in Mexico!! woooo! Everything is going really well down here and I hope that you all are doing good back home. Love you guys! Talk to you next week. View of Allende Games at the Branch activity Christmas Eve, Relief Society gave us gift bags New Hair Cut! One of our Investigators drew us a picture. Linares Zone Interviews, Jan 3 2018....

Feliz Año Nuevo!!!

Happy new years everyone! 2017 went by super fast and I am ready to give it all I've got for 2018! We ended 2017 on a great note. On sunday we had 6 investigators come to church. 4 of which have baptismal dates set for this month. We have a baptism coming up this Saturday. We are gonna be baptizing our investigator Juan. His wife, Kika, doesn't want to be baptized until she sees Juan change. Juan wants me to baptize him which is nice. He wants to be baptized in the river that is here in Allende. He doesn't care about the cold. So we are gonna be having a baptism in the river in January!!!! Wooooooo!!! Elder Hendricks and Elder Clegg went to the river and scoped out some good spots. It is super pretty.  New years was like a war zone down here. So many explosions and fire works and gun shots. We couldn't really sleep very well because our house was shaking because of explosive noise. Haha.  Internet Cafe was closed on Monday for the New Year, so we got permissi...
