Una semana de agua!

Hola todos! As the title suggests, we got a lot of water this week. Starting with the rain, we haven't seen the sun for a while now, which I'm fine with, because here, sun means heat. Even with it cloudy we get heat spells every now and then. Monterrey is not prepared very well for rain. If it rains for 15 minutes all the streets get flooded. The rain doesn't last long usually, but when it rains it rains hard and everything floods so we got hit pretty hard a few days.  We also got a lot of water in the sense of baptisms this week as a zone. Me and my companion baptized a 12 year old young woman named Yulisa on Saturday. The rest of the zone had 6 other baptisms apart. We are super happy and excited because our goal for the month of September is 18 baptisms and right now we are sitting at 14 and we have like 8 more people that can be baptized this month!!!!!!!! That's a lot of baptismal fonts full of water!  💦🌧💧🌊☔🏊🏄🚰 Well, another phase of the miss...

Sept. 10 - Interviews, council, and MOUNTAIN DEW!

We had few things going on this last week. Wednesday we had interviews with President Maucotel. That went really well. He told me that he was very happy my efforts as a zone leader.   Friday, we had our leadership council. All the zone leaders, sister training leaders, and the APs had a big council with President Maucotel. We discussed the needs of all the zones individually and then as a mission and we sat in council to set the standards of excelence mission wide. That was really cool.  Our Bishop went to Laredo Texas at the beginning of the week and he brought me back some Mountain dew! It was diet, but still amazing!  We are going to be having our zone conference on Thursday. And we should be having a baptism this week on Saturday and another one next week.  Love you all! Have an amazing week! Elder Hoyt Monterrey West Mission with  Elder Bednar (Dallin is on the 4th row from the top on the left side,  3rd person in)

Teachings of an Apostle

We had a very eventful week. Tuesday through Friday was hectic: Getting calls every day various times throughout the day to deal with members, missionaries, and the mission President, trying to adjust schedules to find time to do divisions with the companionships in the zone who need our help most, taking care of baptismal interviews, planning a zone activity, scheduling and planning for interviews with President tomorrow and for the zone conference next week, and organizing where everyone was going to stay the night Friday so we could all get to the temple stake center before 7:30 Saturday morning are just some of the things we were dealing with.  On top of it all on Thursday I got very sick. I had a fever, a really bad throat infection and cough, nose and ear pain, headaches, you know all the good stuff. Went to the doctor and got several injections and medicines to take for a few days and Sister Maucotel had me rest on Friday. My only worry that I had was being well enough t...
