Living it up in the MTC

Hola everyone! this week has been fun. i was kinda bummed we didnt get our P day yesterday, we had it moved to today because we had to go and get our green cards finalized in the middle of Mexico city. We had an hour drive just to get there so we could wait half an hour in line so we could do 30 seconds of paper work and then drive for another hour back. so that was a long first part of the day. We got back just in time for lunch which was good because by the end of that trip we were all starving. I've decided that I would never want to live in Mexico. The traffic is literally insane! There are no lines on the road, the speed limit does not seem to matter, I think I´ve only seen one stop light, and there are way too many people. I am pretty impressed with how well they are able to stack their little cement houses all the way up the mountain side when they´ve run out of room. The MTC has been great! I´m growing to love this place even more. Spanish is second nature and me and El...

Almost half way done with the MTC

Hola Hola Hola!     Cómo estan? This last week has been pretty good. Lots of things to do here at the MTC. In the mornings we get up at 6:30 and get ready for breakfast at 7:15 in the comedor. After breakfast we usually go to our classroom and have personal study until 8:45. We then have a few hours of language study, memorization of scriptures, and practicing teaching our lessons. We do all this until lunch at 12:15. After lunch we go to TALL which is a language learning program on the computer. We have about an hour of TALL and then we have daily planning. After daily planning we have an hour of gym time where we do volleyball, frisbee, ping pong, basketball, tennis, or lift weights. mostly beach volleyball. after gym we go back to our classroom for companion study until dinner at 5:15. After dinner we have more language study and teaching lessons until 9. we then go home, pray, and go to bed. And then we wake up and repeat the same thing.    This east...

Week One and Done1

Hola everyone!         I'm alive and well. The plane ride to Mexico was pretty good, there were 9 other missionaries on the plane. Elder Powers and Elder Johansen are going to the same mission as me. My companion is Elder Ballard, he's awesome! I'll be sure to send you pictures of a ton of stuff.        The spirit in the MTC is extremely strong, the devotionals and lessons have been amazing. We have taught several investigator lessons to Mariana who is actually a teacher in the MTC but our last lesson went extremely well and the spirit definitely guided the lesson.      The Mexico city Temple is huge! It's designed like an old aztec temple. There are three sets of escalators to get to all 3 floors. It's such a beautiful place. We got to go do an endowment session today as a district and zone. Yesterday I was made a zone leader with my companion, we actually start those responsibilities next week when t...

He Made It!

April 4, 2017 6:40 AM - We arrived at the airport and checked Dallin in for his flight.  We then made our way up the escalator to the security gate.  We had to say our goodbyes there.  We then watched as he made his way through the winding lines until we couldn't see him anymore.  It was so sad to watch him get further and further away, both of us with tears.   We eventually left the airport, the whole process taking less than an hour.  We stopped at IHOP for breakfast on the way home.  It was a very emotional morning, kind of the end of a crazy emotional week.  I found myself looking at my phone to see what time it was and if his plane was taking off yet.  As dinner time rolled around, I found myself checking my email often, hoping I would get word that he made it. 5:48pm- I made it to the MTC just fine. The roads are crazy! no one uses their blinkers and the lines are pretty much just suggestions.  My Pday is going to be on thu...
