Baptism! and Glasses!

Hola everyone! So we finally had our baptism of AnaLucia this last Friday!! That was a fun time. We left at 7 in the morning to go down to Montemorelos with AnaLucia and her family because her brother had to go to the doctor and the baptism was going to take place in Montemorelos anyway. After the doctors we headed over to the church and got the baptism taken care of! We also had Elder Hendricks´first baptism yesterday. They actually baptized two. I got to sing a solo on the program "The Spirit of God". It turned out super cool.  Today I finally got my glasses! I feel a lot better with them and they look pretty good too. This is also our last week of this change so I´ll probably have a new companion this next Tuesday. Love you all!  Elder Hoyt Baptism of AnaLucia AnaLucia with her new CTR ring Heading to Elder Hendrick´s baptism  (I told Dallin that I could not believe they were getting in that truck again!   He said that it was the cheape...

Service Saves Souls

We had a really cool experience this last week on Friday . We were contacting and saw a family sitting outside of an apartment with tons of luggage and bags along with a few things of furniture. We went over and started to talk to them and found out that they were moving. We asked if we could help them move some of their things and they gladly accepted. We helped them move several other heavy pieces of furniture and a washer. The family consisted of a mom and 3 daughters and 2 grand daughters. The oldest daughter was pregnant and so could not lift any of the heavier objects. The mom had been praying for someone to come help and we showed up. We invited them afterwords to come to church and on Sunday the whole family showed up. I've started looking for even more ways to serve every day. I think that is something we could all do better at. So I'll have my glasses on Thursday the 22nd. I hope I'll look ok with them. I like the design I picked so we'll see. Or I'll see...

Mini Miracle

Elder Hoyt and Elder Pena at Zone Conference This week was pretty busy for us. Tons of work. So looks like I have to get glasses guys! My vision has been pretty bad these last couple of months so I finally went and took an eye exam and I be needin some glasses up in here. I´m gonna be buying them today so that will be fun. Hope I look good with glasses haha.  We had an awesome little miracle happen Saturday and Sunday, we had an investigator come to church that hasn´t ever come before. His name is Carlos.   Carlos is an old investigator that me and Elder Knighton had been teaching. He never came to church and wasn´t really completing with his commitments so we left him. Saturday night just before we were going to go back to the house, his name popped into my head and we decided to visit him. In the past Carlos has always had problems drinking a lot Saturday nights, but as we arrived we found him sober and no beer in sight. He started to tell us that during the...

Working through the opposition

So this week we have been working our tails off. As a zone we put a goal of 27 baptisms for this change. Which is almost unheard of. As a mission our average numbers for baptisms as zones has dropped. So our zone has decided to do something crazy. Puttuing a 27 baptism goal in one change to bring back the excitement and the faith in that we can baptize like the mission used to. It is all based on our atitudes. We are having a baptism today actually at 4. We have another 4 that we are gonna be having on the 25th if everything goes well and we continue working hard.  I have offically been out here in the field for 10 months as of yesterday. Crazy to think that in only two months I'll hit my year mark. Love you guys! Not much this week sorry.  Elder Hoyt
