Week 1 and done

Well here we are at the beginning of week 2 of this change. Week 1 as a Zone Leader was plenty eventfull and week 2 lookd to be the same. My new companion ( Elder Ruiz) is from Panama. We have gotten along really well. With the new Z.L. asignment came a change of responsabilities and different challenges. I no longer have to prepare trainings every week as I did when I was a D.L. But now we deal with all the information of the zone. We spend a lot of time evaluating the information we recieve to see where we are struggling as a zone and so we can try and help the District Leaders since they are the ones who have direct contact with all the rest of the missionaries. If the D.L.s are doing a good job then the rest of the district is strengthened and in turn, the whole zone.  Being the Z.L.s, me and my companion work with the stake president as well as the stake mission leader to view the needs of the different wards and where we need help. Also, being in the center of the Zone an...

What a week!

Hola a todos! This week we had plenty of stuff happen. Some of it wasn't the best and other stuff was awesome while at the same time very surprising. Everyone ready? Here we go! Experiencia numero 1: We begin our tale on Monday of last week. As we were endeing our day we visited a less active family on our way back to the house. The family had weights for exercise that they weren't using so they let us take them so we could use them at the house. They gave us 50 pounds of weights and 2 bars. All the weights are ones that you put on the bars so they can all stack nicely into a back pack so they lent us an old one that they had and we put all 50 pounds of weights in it. We had bikes but we weren't going to be able to ride all the way back to the house but we were'nt that far so we were going to walk. As I was carrying the back pack of weights outside and was lifting it up to rest it on my bike seat, the strap on the back pack broke and all 50 pounds of weights from 4 fee...

Exciting News

Well this week was pretty good for us. We found several investigators that that I had remembered from when I was here in the zone a year ago. We are going to have an appointment with them today. Had a new investigator in church as well who has family that are members in the ward so that will be a good help.  We got an email from our mission President that had a pretty sweet anouncement. On the first of September, Elder David A. Bednar is coming to the mission to speak with us! We are ngoing to have a meeting of 2 hours with him to listen to some messages and some council. We are all super excited for this opportunity and are all focusing on being prepared for the day he comes. The last visit we had from a general authority was last year when Elder Rafael Pino of the 70 came. I am really happy for this opportunity. Elder Bednar is one of my favorite speakers and I am going to lo0ve listening to him.  Today we had our zone activity as well. We just played soccer and then wen...

Day in the Mission

Aug 6- Hola! This week was a pretty good one. Went to Sabinas Hidalgo on Tuesday with Elder Galdámez for divisiona and I did a couple of baptism interviews for them. The two people I interviewed were baptized Saturday and on Sunday they were confirmed.  Friday we had a ward mission activity called " A day in the mission" A few youth and young single adults worked with the missionaries the entire day. The sister missionaries came and we had a young woman who went with them to their areaand worked with the sisters for the day. It turned out really well and we all some really good experiences. It was good to see youth get involved in preparation to go on missions themselves.  Other than that not much happened this week. I love you all. Sorry for not writing more.  love  Elder Hoyt
