This week we will have a 100% chance of rain!

Started to rain a tonTuesday. Cleared up and the started again on Wednesday night last week. It continued all through the night and then the entire day on Thursday. My scriptures were double bagged and still got a little wet. My mini hymn book is still drying.  Friday we did some surprise divisions with the zone leaders. Elder Clegg came with me for the day and my companion went to the other area with Elder Aguilar. It was super fun being with Clegg again and I always learn a lot from the way he works. He was telling me how he was afraid that when the new mission president gets here, he's going be dropped from zone leader since there are going to be only 5 zones now. Means less zone leaders.   But we'll see what happens.  Today we had our district activity. We went to "Parque Fundidora" and ate Carls JR. One of the Sisters crashed into a light pole while we rented bikes. She is all good though. This was also the last Pday where we are going to be able to use ...

21

I feel old now. Tuesday last week I turned 21 years old. Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday congratulations, cards and well wishes. I am not supposed to be getting this old!! Haha. My body has all the aches and soreness that an old person might have but it just comes with all the walking around. Another crazy thing is that in 9 months I'll be home. The time is going by so fast!  Tuesday at our district/ zone meeting Elder Clegg baught me a big cookie and put a crazy candle on it and the zone sang happy birthday to be. I also got to go back to Sabinas Hidalgo!! I spent my birthday last year there when I was still being trained and I got to spend it again there. It was interesting to see the change that I had made. From training to now D.L. It was really cool seeing a lot of the members that I knew and meet a few new ones. I made me one of the mini cakes that my mom sent me and that was good.  Saturday, The zone came to our area and helped us paint a house of one...

June 11 - The District 3

These last 2 weeks have been pretty crazy. Lot's of stuff happening in the zone and in my district. We started off with 6 other missionaries in the district, not including me and my companion. Day 2 of this change Elder Medina who was in Sabinas with Elder Castillo got moved to a new area because he ended up with gal bladder problems and had to be close to the hospital. We also had Elder Peña (my trainee) and Elder Sandrigo in the district for a week. Did divisions with them and then this week got moved into the other district because 2 Elders in the other district were moved to another area because of the changes in the ward boundry lines. 2 days later Elder Medina was sent home so he could have surgery. So Elder Sandrigo went with Medinas old companion leaving Peña in the area. So the 2 Elders that were sent to another area were told to return and now are in a trio with Elder Peña. Elder Medina was replaced in Sabinas by Elder Galdamez who was with us in the Linares zone a few mo...

First week as a D.L.

Woooo. Wow this week was super busy. I´m making a lot more phone calls every day. The zone leaders called me up one day and I had to run to get on a bus to their area to do an emergency baptismal interview. Did divisions on Friday. I was with Elder Peña for a day. It went well. It was fun and a little stressfull preparing my first training that we give on Tuesdays. We´ve had a lot of crazy changes this week as well. An Elder in my district got moved to another area because he ended up with some health problems. We are getting more area added to ours and all the area boundries have changed. We've had to look for new houses for some other Elders. Crazy things happenin.  The last week I was in Solidaridad we had another baptism. Don´t remember if I already mentioned that. 5 people were baptized at the same time. We combined with the zone for the baptism and it was super cool.  My new companion Elder Catmull is really cool. He is super tall. He is from Arizona. It has ...
