New Area

Hola! This week was packed full of things to do. Tuesday was changes. I saw Elder Powers and Elder Johansen again. Distrisct 11A reunited! I also had the opportunity to talk to Elder Hendricks on Monday night at the offices. That was super awesome to see someone from home. My new companion is Elder Vega. He is from Vera Cruz and has 13 months in the mission. I actually met him during my first change. He was in my zone in San Nicolas. The new area is pretty cool. It is called Balcones but the city is Monterrey in a sub city called Santa Catarina. Mitras is the name of the zone. Unpacked all my stuff on Tuesday, had our district meeting on Wednesday, and Interviews with President McArthur on Thursday. On Saturday we did a service project with Elder Luke and Elder Blanco from our district painting a health center.  We worked our butts off this week. We ended the week with 13 new investigators, 4 investigators at church, and two investigators with a baptismal date coming up in Octob...

Nacho....the Luchador

Hola! ¿Que tal? So this week was the week of the Mexican día de independencia. The 15th was the Noche de Grito where they celebrate their independence day a day early with a parade, fireworks, and the "Viva México" shout. That was pretty crazy   fun. The branch had their own party after the parade and we had several investigators come so that turned out nice.   We met this guy who is the largest collector of luchador masks in Mexico. He has over 1000 masks. He also did luchador fights as well and has his own gear. He has several masks that have been in museums, movies and all have been worn and used by real fighters. He has two of the most famous luchadores masks that they used in Mexico. Their names are Tinieblas and Mil Mascaras. Those are his most valuable and he let us put them on!! But that isn't the coolest thing he has. He has the very masks that were used by Nacho Libre and Ramses in the Nacho Libre movie!!!! Signed by Jack Black and everything!!! He also h...

Cooler

Sept 6th - Dallin's PDay was moved this week so they could go to the Temple.    Here is a quick email he sent Wednesday evening. Hey Mom. These last two days were rediculous. Long Story Short We are in Monterrey still and we don't have any more than half an hour to write. I'm not gonna have a ton of time to tell you about the whole week so I'll just tell you about the last two days. Tuesday night we stayed at our district leaders house. So we needed to get from Sabinas to Monterrey. The last bus out of Sabinas left at 4:30. We had time to eat lunch with a member and visit an investigator. Lunch was at 2 and we got to our investigators house at 3. He ended up having a ton of questions and we missed our bus by 3 minutes. We sprinted 5 blocks trying to catch it.  It has also been raining since Monday. I got to use my jacket! That water proof jacket is awesome, Thank You Mom!!! So we were without a way to Monterrey. Luckily we knew this Uber driver who we called up and...
