Exciting News

Well this week was pretty good for us. We found several investigators that that I had remembered from when I was here in the zone a year ago. We are going to have an appointment with them today. Had a new investigator in church as well who has family that are members in the ward so that will be a good help.

We got an email from our mission President that had a pretty sweet anouncement. On the first of September, Elder David A. Bednar is coming to the mission to speak with us! We are ngoing to have a meeting of 2 hours with him to listen to some messages and some council. We are all super excited for this opportunity and are all focusing on being prepared for the day he comes. The last visit we had from a general authority was last year when Elder Rafael Pino of the 70 came. I am really happy for this opportunity. Elder Bednar is one of my favorite speakers and I am going to lo0ve listening to him.

Today we had our zone activity as well. We just played soccer and then went to a buffete, but we all had a good time. It was Elder Clegg and Sister Poitans last zone activity and they enjoyed it and are kind of freaking out that they are going home next week. Next week we have changes as well on the 21st. I'll probably be getting a new companion as Elder Catmull has been here in the area for 6 months. But you never know what can happen with changes so we'll see.

Well I love you all! Hope you have an amazing week.

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ Elder Pena from the Dominican Republic Trainers and Trainees posing with the Pres.

1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
