First week as a D.L.

Woooo. Wow this week was super busy. I´m making a lot more phone calls every day. The zone leaders called me up one day and I had to run to get on a bus to their area to do an emergency baptismal interview. Did divisions on Friday. I was with Elder Peña for a day. It went well. It was fun and a little stressfull preparing my first training that we give on Tuesdays. We´ve had a lot of crazy changes this week as well. An Elder in my district got moved to another area because he ended up with some health problems. We are getting more area added to ours and all the area boundries have changed. We've had to look for new houses for some other Elders. Crazy things happenin.

The last week I was in Solidaridad we had another baptism. Don´t remember if I already mentioned that. 5 people were baptized at the same time. We combined with the zone for the baptism and it was super cool.

My new companion Elder Catmull is really cool. He is super tall. He is from Arizona. It has been fun seeing some of the old faces that I had met about a year ago.

Wish me luck. Love you all! Have an awesome week!

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ Elder Pena from the Dominican Republic Trainers and Trainees posing with the Pres.

1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
