Feliz Año Nuevo!!!

Happy new years everyone! 2017 went by super fast and I am ready to give it all I've got for 2018! We ended 2017 on a great note. On sunday we had 6 investigators come to church. 4 of which have baptismal dates set for this month. We have a baptism coming up this Saturday. We are gonna be baptizing our investigator Juan. His wife, Kika, doesn't want to be baptized until she sees Juan change. Juan wants me to baptize him which is nice. He wants to be baptized in the river that is here in Allende. He doesn't care about the cold. So we are gonna be having a baptism in the river in January!!!! Wooooooo!!! Elder Hendricks and Elder Clegg went to the river and scoped out some good spots. It is super pretty.

New years was like a war zone down here. So many explosions and fire works and gun shots. We couldn't really sleep very well because our house was shaking because of explosive noise. Haha.

Internet Cafe was closed on Monday for the New Year, so we got permission to write today.

Everything is going well down here and we are kicking off the new year right. Les amo bastante!!!

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ 1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
