Dec. 3 - Sunshine and miracles

Hola familia y amigos en casa! This week as November came to an end and December started up, we are still getting lots of sun. We got up into the high 70s and low 80s a couple days. Today Monday started out pretty warm but later on got cloudy and started to rain a bit. Temperature is supposed to drop a bit this week. Sorry for all those back home who are getting snow and freezing. Although I'd prefer snow to the cold rain here in Monterrey.

Our missionaries here in the San Nicolás zone have been working really hard despite of a fewrule changes in the mission that were a little rough and we have had a ton of success and miracles. Ever since we started focusing a lot more on working with the members we have been recieving a lot more references and help in the work. Just this week alone as a zone we have doubled the amount of investigators that we have with baptismal dates. 20! to be exact. Right now as one of the smallest zones in the mission with only 14 missionaries we are putting out numbers that zones with over 24 missionaries aren't able to. Not trying to brag, and numbers aren't what matter, but Me and my companion are super proud of the Elders and Sisters that are here in San Nicolás. We might be few, but we are powerful.

With Christmas time approaching, we are very excited to be starting with the "Ilumina El Mundo", "Light The World" initiative. It's really cool during this time of year in Monterrey because the church pays to put on all the main buses the Light The World image. It's cool to see tons of huge buses in all parts of the city with the initiative of the Church driving around. It's fun to contact people on the streets and show them what we are about as a church.

I love you all! Hope you have a great week and that you can find awesome ways to Light The World!

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ 1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
