Cambios

Hello family and friends! This last week was a pretty busy one.  This last week we have been working a lot with several investigators who we are teaching right now. We have an investigator named Jackelin who has been progressing for a little bit now. She came to church for the 3rd time on Sunday and right now the only thing that she needs to do so dhe can be baptized is get married. We've been helping her and her boyfriend get all the papers done and if everything goes well we should be able to get her married and baptized by the 13th of October. Lots of running back and forth to the Registro Civil.

Another investigator we have named Eva. She is an older woman who lives close to our Bishop. She has recieved the discussions before and a while ago stopped listening because the missionaries invited her to baptism too fast. But several weeks ago she talked with Bishop Sanchez and said she wanted to go to church and recieve the lessons again and be baptized in a little while. She has come to church the last 3 weeks and is almost ready. We just have a few more things to go over again with her as she can't read either but we are excited for her.

There is another couple that we have who's daughter was baptized a couple weeks ago and they both along with their other son are almost ready as well. The couple (Brandon and Betty) also have to get married and the paperwork has been delayed but in a few weeks everything should fall into place with them as well.

We have several more investigators that we are teaching that haven't come to church yet but have high hopes for. We are keeping busy with people to teach.

Sunday night we were supposed to get the news of our changes but President was really late in getting to the offices so the Asistents called us at almost 11:30 at night to tell us that we'd get the news in the morning. So today at around 7:00 AM we got the changes. Me and Elder Ruiz are staying together here in San Nicolas. There were only 2 areas that had changes in the entire zone. But President has also changed the way we are doing the changes tomorrow. Instead of everyone going to the chappel buy the offices and meeting up with our new companions there we all now go to our stake centers in our zones and then from there we seperate ourselves from our companion and go alone to our new zones stake center to meet with our companion and then head to our areas. That means us as zone leaders are going to be sitting in the stake center for a long time directing traffic. It's going to be interesting but we'll be alright. I'm glad I don't have to pack and that I'm staying with Elder Ruiz so we can finish our work together.

Well, I love you all! Que tengan una semana llena de éxito y felicidad!

Elder Hoyt

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ 1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
