Holy Changes Batman!!!

Well. We got our changes yesterday. One heck of a crazy day it was. The craziness started in church. Our Stake president came anounced that the 12 stakes of Monterrey were now going to be changed. All ward boundries changed. Some wards now don't exist. They removed an entire stake. Our ward here in Solidaridad is now called the Fraile ward. It is now triple the size. Many wards were combined. This plan has been under taken over the last 3 years and now is finally ready. The idea was that every ward had every calling filled to make the work go smoother. Now, with all the ward boundry changes, that means that all the area boundries for us missionaries are going to be changed and adjusted. Basically a clean slate. Everything new accross all of Mopnterrey.

That was the info we got in sacrament meeting. It gets crazier. After lunch we got a call from President McArthur. Elder Rosales is going to be training this next change. That means I am leaving. Yup. After just one change they are taking me out. But here is the crazy part. I am going back to my first zone in San Nicolas!! But wait there's more. I'm going to be a District Leader! But WAIT! It is the very same district as the one I first came to when I started my mission over a year ago. That means The Elders in my first area (Sabinas Hidalgo) are in this district. And since I am District Leader...I can do divisions and return to Sabinas for a day!!! How cool is that!

As crazy and exciting as it is, I am also quite nervous. As a District Leader I am going to have a lot more responsabilities. But I'm gonna give it my all to be able to help these missionaries and to be an instrument in the hands of the Lord. My new companions name is Elder Catmull. The area is Fraustro. Tomorrow we are waking up early to get to the offices and get our companions. Woooo!

Love you all! Have a great week!

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ Elder Pena from the Dominican Republic Trainers and Trainees posing with the Pres.

1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
