Easter, Conference, 1 year mark!

Happy Easter!

Hola mi familia y todos mis amigos!

This week is a really eventful one for me down here in Mexico! We started off with General Conference! How crazy were those two anouncements! The first one was during the priesthood session. High Priests and Elders will now be combined into one Elders Quorum. It was a worldwide realease of callings haha. Thought about my dad was the Elders quorum President in our ward. I wanted to see his face when he found out the news. The second anouncement during the final session on Sunday was another big one regarding Home and Visiting teaching which will now be called Ministering. And then the addition of 7 new temples! Me, Elder Clegg and Elder Hendricks all chuckled a little about yet another temple in Utah and then the one in Russia is cool.

On wednesday I will have officially been out here in the mission field for 1 year!!!! Half way done! The time has gone by so fast! I have learned so much and have made quite a few personal changes as well.  Not just spiritually and mentally, but physically as well. I am literally almost a completely different person. Looking to give this last half all I got!

This last week me and Elder Salas pushed hard and we ended the week with 83 invitations to baptism, 28 new investigators and several investigators that came to church and we will probably be having a baptism this week and one next week. We are going to keep this drive going! Elder Salas completes his 6 months on Saturday too so we have a ton of stuff going on!

I love you all! It is super hot down here! weight loss season here we come!

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ Elder Pena from the Dominican Republic Trainers and Trainees posing with the Pres.

1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
