Service Saves Souls

We had a really cool experience this last week on Friday . We were contacting and saw a family sitting outside of an apartment with tons of luggage and bags along with a few things of furniture. We went over and started to talk to them and found out that they were moving. We asked if we could help them move some of their things and they gladly accepted. We helped them move several other heavy pieces of furniture and a washer. The family consisted of a mom and 3 daughters and 2 grand daughters. The oldest daughter was pregnant and so could not lift any of the heavier objects. The mom had been praying for someone to come help and we showed up. We invited them afterwords to come to church and on Sunday the whole family showed up.

I've started looking for even more ways to serve every day. I think that is something we could all do better at. So I'll have my glasses on Thursday the 22nd. I hope I'll look ok with them. I like the design I picked so we'll see. Or I'll see. See better hopefully hehe. We are in almost 80 degree weather down here right now. Crazy weather changes down here. They have a little saying down here for these two months of weather. "Febrero loco y Marso otro poco".

Love you guys!

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ 1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
