Hola a todos!

November 13th

Hola a todos!!! This week was interesting. Almost every appointment that we had fell through this week so we did a ton of contacting. Our baptism ended up falling through as well because she drank coffe a couple days before. We moved the date to the 19th. We got her vsome packs of hot chocolate to help her stay off the coffe.

While we were contacting we found a sister that had been seeing the missionaries before and had even been to church but the missionaries stopped coming because she moved and so she stopped going to church. We talked to her and she actually loved the church meetings and wanted to take the discussions again and even get baptized. We put a baptismal date for her on the 3rd of December.

We had a really short P day today. Elder Knighton had to get his visa renewed so we had to go to the offices in the morning. We didn't get back until 3. While I was waiting at the offices I went and got my hair cut with Elder Pierce who is the secretary of materials and when we finished that I just hung with the assistants. One of the assistants Elder Esteves from the dominican republic put silly puddy all over Elder Pierces face and some got stuck in his hair. He ended up having to soak his hair in hot water for over half an hour to get it out. The other assistant Elder Crook was in my first district in San Nicolas so I talked with him for a while. He showed me my departure date and a bunch of other cool stuff he can do. I guess I go home on the 18th of March 2019. He told me they usually send you home a couple weeks before your two year mark so they don't have to deal with visa problems again.

Well love you guys! Talk to you later.

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ Elder Pena from the Dominican Republic Trainers and Trainees posing with the Pres.

1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
