Semana de milagros

Hola a todos! this week was a crazy one. We were all over the place. This week, everyone in our district had a baptism. Since Elder Vega is District Leader we were running around to all the other areas to do baptismal interviews. Wednesday we had our baptism with Alfredo, but before the baptism we had to hop on a bus for half an hour to go to the area of the sister missionaries in our district to do interviews. We also had to rush back to our area and drain and clean the baptismal font and fill it again by the time our baptism started at 8:00 PM. Thursday we were in the area of the sisters again with the whole district doing our "Pulga de Salvación" contacting in a park and getting a ton of referances. Friday we were in the Area of Elders Blanco and Luke to do interviews again and Saturday was our baptism for José so that ment draining, cleaning, and filling the font again.

We were hardly in our own area this week but we still had a ton of success. The baptisms went well and both Alfredo and José were very happy afterwards. Elder Vega baptized 9 year old Alfredo and I baptized 63 year old José. I was super happy to see that happiness on their faces. I got a good picture of Alfredo looking super excited for his baptism.

We found a new family to teach on Friday before we went to the area of the Elders in our district. It was a mom and her two kids. (husband was at work) they were busy Friday but they said we could go back on Saturday. So we went back on Saturday and we taught the mom (Angelica) her two kids (Jesus) and (Lesli) and her relatives that lived upstairs. We taught the Plan of Salvation and they loved it. We invited them to baptism and the mom accepted. We are gonna put an official date with them this week. We also invited them to church the next day at 9 in the morning and Angelica and her kids came! They day after the first lesson and they came to church and accepted baptism. She said to us afterwards that she was going to bring the kids to the Wednesday activities and that she was going to get her husband to listen and start coming with us. This was a super miracle for us since our week was so jam packed full of stuff we had hardly any time to do any proselyting. But super excited for this family! They are super ready to listen to our message.

Today for our P day activity we actually got to go paint balling at a place up in the mountains which was super awesome!! It was our district activity and our sisters came with us and loved it. Super sweet week!!!! Love you all! Talk to ya next week.

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ 1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
