Cambios Y BAUTISMOS!!!!

Hey everyone back home!!! I have mixed emotions about coming to the end of this change. I am super happy with all the hard work me and my companion Elder Vega put into this change. Super glad to see the gospel change the lives of the 4 people we baptized. Sad to be leaving this area after only one change here. Gonna miss my converts. Excited to be a senior companion! They are taking both me and Elder Vega out of Balcones and they are sending sister missionaries. Vega is going to be Zone Leader in Topo Chico. I am being sent to the farthest area South in the mission. Linares. My area is Allende and I am going as a Senior companion. I'm getting another white boy from Utah. His name is Elder Nighton. I have heard good things about him. They say my area is really pretty. That will be nice. I'll also be on bikes again. YAY!!!!! I love bikes!!!

We had our final district and zone meeting this last Tuesday. I cooked the cookies my mom sent me in the last package I got. Two Elders in the zone are going home this week so that was the reason for the cookies. Nice send off. Our zone was the Zone of the change as well!!! Which means out of all the zones in the mission we completed our baptismal goal. 12 baptisms this last change!!! We made t-shirts and everything haha. On Saturday we baptised Angelica and her son Jesús. The GOLDEN FAMILY!!! After only two weeks they wanted to be baptised as soon as they could. They are more members of their family who are listening to our message now along with her husband.

Linares here I come! Let's see what this next change brings. I'm gonna give em heaven!! hahaha

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ Elder Pena from the Dominican Republic Trainers and Trainees posing with the Pres.

1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
