New Area

Hola! This week was packed full of things to do. Tuesday was changes. I saw Elder Powers and Elder Johansen again. Distrisct 11A reunited! I also had the opportunity to talk to Elder Hendricks on Monday night at the offices. That was super awesome to see someone from home. My new companion is Elder Vega. He is from Vera Cruz and has 13 months in the mission. I actually met him during my first change. He was in my zone in San Nicolas. The new area is pretty cool. It is called Balcones but the city is Monterrey in a sub city called Santa Catarina. Mitras is the name of the zone. Unpacked all my stuff on Tuesday, had our district meeting on Wednesday, and Interviews with President McArthur on Thursday. On Saturday we did a service project with Elder Luke and Elder Blanco from our district painting a health center.

We worked our butts off this week. We ended the week with 13 new investigators, 4 investigators at church, and two investigators with a baptismal date coming up in October. The ward is awesome. There are 70 to 80 that come to church every week and we have a mission leader who is very into the work and helping with investigators. The investigators with baptismal dates are Alfredo and Jose Flores. They both showed up to church. I am super pumped to be here!

Love you all!

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ 1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
