Success and Sickness

Hola todos! Este semana pasada fue interesante.

We had some pretty cool moments of success this week. On Thursday night we had the mutual activity. Me and Elder Quilter went to the chappel early with several other youth to practice for the musical number on Sunday during the branch conference. I was the director for this little choir. We sang "Secret Prayer". After choir I baked cupcakes with the mix Elder Quilter got for his birthday on the 5th. We then played soccer. We had several non member boys show up to play with us and we had Edith Come as well. Super fun and successfull night.

Saturday we had our English and Piano classes which also turned out great. I teach English while Elder Quilter teaches piano. We also had several new people show up to that as well. That same day however I woke up in the morning with a stuffy nose and a bit of a cough. Continued on with the day and it got worse.

Sunday we had the branch conference. Several members of the stake presidency came with their families and gave talks and classes for the day. The musical number went really well and we had several inactive families come with 1 investigator. Another Success!  The cough and stuffy nose didn't go away and now my head started to hurt. The cough really sucked because it was from my chest and every 10 seconds I was coughing up something. Sister Perla (who we ate with) was freaking out because we hadn't gone to a hospital.

Today was an ok P-day. I called the mission presidents wife yesterday to tell her about my condition and she had me talk to a doctor and found out I have bronchitis.  today I went to the pharmacy in Sabinas and bought the meds he told me to get. So hopefully I can get back up to 100 percent soon.

Other than being sick I am still loving the work. I love you all. Talk to you next week

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ 1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
