Heat and sweat. Sweat and heat

Hey everyone! I'm doing good down here. Saturday was a little rough because I got a little sick because of the heat. I'm not used to it being in the 120s almost every day. I'm staying hydrated so don't any of you worry. I don't think I've sweated this much in my whole life. Here is something crazy. So When I weighed myself at the MTC I was 240 pounds. Right now I weigh 209 pounds! I have lost 31 pounds in this first 3 and a half months of my mission. I don't recognize myself sometimes when I look in the mirror.

Cool contacting story. We were out knocking doors on thursday and I knocked on this one door and this older guy opened it a little bit and asked who we were. In Spanish I say "hello we are missionaries...." and before I could finish the sentace he threw open the door and got super excited and told us to come in. We go in and he has us take a seat and gets us some ice water. He told us his name was Juan. His wife came in the door as we started talking to him. Her name was Ana. They were both super kind and listened to a short message and agreed to a second visit. Easiest contact ever. Haha.

I'm loving it here in Monterrey. Today we had our zone activity. We played a soccer tournament and had pizza and got permission from President McArthur to watch The Jungle Book. So that was super fun.

Love you guys! Hope everyone is doing well.

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ 1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
