The Churro that Changed the World!

                                                            MTC's Favorite District

Hola hola hola! This is my last week here in the MTC! I'm super excited to get out into the field and start finding people! The MTC has been really amazing and I'm going to miss everyone.

Two days ago the MTC second councilor came over to our classroom with his wife and gave us churros! They were way better than any churro I've ever eaten in America. They were warm and had caramel on the inside with all the sugar you could possibly want coating the outside. They were soooo good!

Our district has it pretty good With the entire MTC presidency. Our classroom is right in between the offices. 1st councilor Lions and President Bennet are one side and then 2nd councilor Eves is on the other. They stop in all the time to say hi and talk with us. Whenever we have doctrinal questions we go to president Lions. He is so intelligent and loves when we ask him things about the gospel. President Eves is the one who gave us the churros. He was in the air force a really long time and super cool and chill. President Bennet is just awesome! He is bold about making sure everyone is obedient but is also so very kind and the first thing him and his wife tell us every time they come in and say hi is we love you.

We got all of our luggage packed and weighed last night which was good. So leaving on Monday for Monterrey are me, Elder Powers, Elder Johanson, and like 9 Latinos haha. Our flight leaves at 7 in the morning but we have to get up at 3 to make it to the airport on time because traffic is so bad. So that will be an adventure.

I sang my solo on Tuesday night during the devotional with the entire MTC. That was pretty nerve wracking but was super awesome! Another sister sang a solo too which was cool. She had a pretty Opera voice.

My next email will be from Monterrey! Love you all! Can't wait to hear from you.

Jan 7 - Bad Toes

Jan. 7 well this last week was pretty eventful. Wednesday I had to go to the hospital to get both of my toes taken care of because I had ingrown toenails on both feet. Since it was both feet I've been unable to do anything for almost the whole week. Today I am going back to get the stitches out so I can get back to working. It isn't even cold down here. Well hope everyone has a really good week.  Elder Hoyt

Training

Hey everyone so I just finished my first week as a trainer. My new companion is Elder Peña from the Dominican Republic. He is 25 years old and is a convert of 2 and a half years. I almost feel like I am the one being trained here haha. He has so much gospel knowledge and has absolutely no problem with wanting to talk to people. He is also exactly obedient along with me. We have a baptism for the 31st coming up and we are finding more people to teach. I have a good feeling about the success we are going to have this change.  I am also excited for my Christmas call coming up on Monday next week!! I get to see my family! Tomorrow is our mission talent show/ christmas dinner and I'll be singing let it go haha.  I love you all! Talk to you next week New Trainers And your new trainee is........ 1 year mark!!!

Hey everyone! So this last week I hit my 1 year mark on the 4th! It is so weird. I don't feel like I have been out here for a year already. I have learned so much and for this last half I am going to apply what I have learned to bring out my full missionary potential!  This week we are going to be having a baptism on Saturday. And then we are going to be having changes next Tuesday so we'll see what happens there as well. I have been here in Allende for a while so there is a chance that I get changed. We are all pretty sure that Elder Hendricks is gonna be going too.  We had a cool opportunity to do some service on Saturday. We helped a guy cut some weeds and clean up his yard too. His neighbor thought we were crazy for coming here to Mexico for two years to help people, but was impressed as well.  Anyway, Love you all! Have a great week!
